The Forest for the Trees

When trying to deal with all the little problems hides the big bad one.

I thought I reflected enough and was able to take in the big picture for most things in life. Little did I know that by dealing with each problem separately and thinking I was a "good" enough person to accept and get over each one that I would hide the larger problem. A good neutral third party is good for this kind of analysis, to confirm that the problem that hit me over the head is indeed real and not something I have blown completely out of proportion.

The forest is indeed made up of many trees...

Who are you?

How many people in this world realise who they are? Is it even possible to know? We are constantly changing, and possibly the action of pondering and discovering who we are would actually change who we are. Thereby the search inside of ourselves is never ending.

Is it best then to not spend time finding ourselves and instead just taking the path that our feelings lead us?

Each Day is a Battle...

The good news is that I am learning to live each day as it comes. I think.

Rather than be caught up in doing things today to pave the way for the distant future, which may never eventuate, I am now keeping both eyes on today. Interspersed with occasional quick glances and thoughts to the future.

At least doing something each day to get enjoyment out of that day. Something that I'm positive I did before, it is just that my last journey seemed so long ago. The important thing is that this time round I remember to involve people who are close to me, rather than just focussing on myself. This does rely on having compatible people close. If you are not compatible then one person needs to compromise too much and a shared experience is not always joyous for both people.
